# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The coconut cream transforms ordinary Dr Pepper into something that tastes like a dessert you should probably pay eight dollars for at a fancy bodega
  • It comes together in literally five minutes but looks impressive enough to serve when friends unexpectedly drop by
  • The blackberry syrup adds this sophisticated fruit note that somehow makes the whole thing feel less like junk food and more like an intentional creation
02 -
  • The cream will not float properly if your soda is not cold enough, I learned this the hard way when I tried making one with room temperature soda and it just turned into an off looking cloudy mess
  • Pouring the cream over the back of a spoon is the trick that makes this look professional instead of like you just dumped ingredients into a cup
  • The drink separates pretty quickly so stir it within a few minutes or you will end up with weird warm cream on top and flat soda underneath
03 -
  • Stick your glass in the freezer for ten minutes before starting, the frosted glass keeps everything colder longer and looks pro
  • If your coconut cream is too solid to pour, microwave it for literally five seconds and stir, any longer and it gets too thin to float properly
